We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
This week has been another fun and exciting week in the forest. One of the most popular activities this week was the opportunity to make our own playdough.
This week many children had a very different forest experience as we spent all five days on the Bowls Field. We consider ourselves lucky to have Little Forest Folk Wandsworth spread across two locations and we were delighted that some Forest-only children could enjoy this space too.
This week the Bunnies and Foxes have both been so busy. There have been pumpkin colourings, leaf art and so much water play. A favourite activity has been making and using obstacle courses.
This week we explored other cultures’ traditions from far and wide destinations across the globe! We dived into how Māori’s in New Zealand weave Harakeke leaves into shooting stars and magic wands in a traditional style, known as ‘putiputi.
This week the children have been super busy engaging in a variety of experiences. At the start of the week the children immersed themselves with a range of natural resources, creating nature faces using googly eyes, leaves, sticks, and anything they could find to make aliens or other creatures.
This week in our Morden forest there has been focus on the safety and achievement of making fire!! At the back of the forest, we set up an activity area where the children could practise making sparks using flint and steel with Sarah!
The week began with wind-fall apples galore, brought in by Dan on the way in to work. After a little bit of explaining that these were for playing with rather than eating, the fruit was being used in numerous games and activities around the field.
Our lovely Little Forest Folk-ers have had an exceptional week this week and it has been so fabulous to see all our new starters settled in their new environment.
This week we began our new adventure on Monkey Camp where the children have enjoyed exploring new areas of the forest and engaging in different activities.
As the season visibly changes, a raft of new things to play with pepper the floor around us. Sweet chestnut husks wrapped over pinecones make rather authentic looking hedgehogs, and this week we made many snug homes for these cute critters.
