This week we explored other cultures’ traditions from far and wide destinations across the globe! We dived into how Māori’s in New Zealand weave Harakeke leaves into shooting stars and magic wands in a traditional style, known as ‘putiputi. We also looked at the map together to see where New Zealand is and where we live. Some of our explorers were able to say the country we live in, England!
Our adventurous spirit has meant we’ve been real monkeys this week, clambering on climbing frames, as well as trees, stumps and logs!
Our weekly walks have been a real treat this week as we went to the play park and became pirates and pretended we were on a deserted island! 🏴☠️
In our allotment we found some veggies and fruits nuzzled in the soils including a carrot, a potato, rhubarb and some Rosemary!
Chiswick house and gardens has a spooky Halloween trail going on throughout October, so we had the spooktacular pleasure of stumbling upon skeletons, pumpkins and some other hidden treasures 🎃
Autumn is such a beautiful time to reflect on the year and take in the variety of colours in the forest. 🍂 We embraced all of the fallen leaves around us by; leaf-hunting for arts and crafts, observing the changing colours and listening to the sounds created when we went crunching through the leaves!
Another fun and informative week in the forest 🌳🍂🍃
Fun fact: Did you know? Almost 85% of plant life is found in the ocean.
