This week in the Morden forest we embraced the chill and enjoyed lots of fun wintery activities! 

Winter is coming and hats and gloves season is truly upon us! This week we’ve seen our little ones adapt to the cold temperatures like pros, learning quickly the value of their hats and gloves. In the forest we have been talking about moving our bodies to keep them warm, going for walks and marching to keep our feet toastie in their boots, and rubbing our hands together when they get chilly in their gloves.

This week in the Morden forest, our explorers got stuck in with a large variety of activities and interactions as the autumn leaves continue to fall. 

As the weather gets colder here in the forest, our little adventurers have been developing their independence!

We’ve had such an amazing week in the forest this October half term! It’s been action-packed with lots of bulb planting for spring and plenty of adventure walks and spooky delights as we geared up for Halloween on Thursday!

This week in the forest we’ve been exploring all the loose parts around us and letting our creativity flow. Magic is in the air with Halloween next week so on Monday we went on an otherworldly adventure walk with Charlotte and Kitz!

This week in the forest, we’ve had fun with tools, experiments and role play! 

Down in the forest this week we had some amazing animal roleplay with our new masks! The children are developing their imaginative play beautifully, by experimenting how animals communicate without using words! It’s been amazing to watch them extend their imaginative play all through the day. 

This week in the forest we have been all about stories! We started with a classic bear hunt with Charlotte and all the children loved repeating all their favourite lines, “We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it, we’ve got to go through it.”

As September comes to an end, we started our week off with an adventure walk to say goodbye to the leaves. We can’t wait for our forest to turn into an autumn wonderland. On our travels we found a hedgehog starting to bed down for the colder months.
