Morden - Personal, Social and Emotional Development!

This week in our Morden Forest, our explorers have been busy at play with a focus on our personal, social and emotional development through sharing and chatting in our activities!

The children had a great time using their strong fingers to give the cardboard faces new hair styles!! As they threaded the ribbons through, and cut them to their desired length with scissors, we talked about how we feel when we go for a haircut! Some children felt nervous, and some felt excited to see their new look. It was lovely to see how their focus with their fine motor skills encouraged their conversations.

Speaking of fine motor skills, the children were so engaged with a fabulous mark-making activity where they practiced tracing letters or simple words. It was great to see the children practicing their letter-making with such delicate brushes. These early writing skills are fabulous for their literacy and physical development!
