Twickenham - World Singing Day

Chirping robins, tweeting parakeets, and clucking chickens joined our Little Forest Folk-ers in Twickenham as we celebrated World Singing Day!

After gearing up with our favourite dressing up costumes, we performed on our stage and filled the forest with lovely strums of guitar and ukulele, loud beats of darbuka (steel conga), rhythmic shakes of shekere, and the relaxing sound of the steel tongue drum. The children also used a black pipe as a microphone and sticks and old tin cans as percussion instruments. We sang our hearts out to our favourite forest school songs such as ‘The Hairy Scary Castle’, ‘Baby Beluga’, and ‘Willoughby Wallaby’. Eventually, a rock band was formed and called themselves ‘Banana, Banana Head Band’! They composed their own songs about their family, dinosaurs, butterflies… and eggs! Our little musicians are definitely never short of creativity (and humour, too!).

Flourishing friendships, growing teamwork, and developing communication are absolutely at work when we do things together. Thank you all for coming to the forest! Have a great weekend!
