This week, in what felt like a tropical forest week, we had some new friends come and join us! We had faces of old, as we welcomed back some returning holiday camp buddies into the forest and faces of young as we welcomed some new settling children who are joining us shortly!mmer!

There's been a definitive chill across the camp this week. Regardless, we’re deeply pleased to say that it seems to have had little effect on the children's spirits. The wooden platforms took center stage one afternoon as the children played a great game of 'The Floor is Lava.’ With our educators, Sam and Simon, conducting the game, the children went into a state of euphoria.

We have had a very fun time in our swampy and sludgy camp this week. The children handled the showers and streams of rain with inspirational fortitude. The weather has done little to deter their spirit of adventure! We have had a very fun time in our swampy and sludgy camp this week. It's been a thoroughly brilliant week for us all on the common. We started out the week with our first adventure walk of the season! For some, their first ever adventure walk with us, which is delightful. We had a short walk down to Caesar's Well and the children had a blast walking beneath the autumnal canopy of auburn and bronze. When we returned, we were due a well-earned rest and a good story, so the children sat, sipping their water, and listened as Educator Luca read a somewhat dramatic reading of 'The Elephant and the Bad Baby.'
Wandsworth - Arms Raised and Frightening Roars!
Wandsworth - Making Mud Birthday Cakes!
As the sun sets on another week of our second summer, we are grateful for this continuous warmth!
Water play has been aplenty, from making mud birthday cakes for one of our mini explorer’s fourth birthday, to a water hoist activity using a pulley clip to activate some paracord that is attached to a bucket of water, we attempted to reinvent our water play area to create a more physical challenge to our children.
Wandsworth - Dazzling Flowers and Terrifying Tigers!
It's been another joyful week at Wimbledon Common, in the slowly advancing autumnal colours. A carpet of brown and burgundy leaves lay about the camp. Fortunately, many of the children are very enthusiastic about raking the leaves up, leaving deep tracks for others to follow and play on. Our newest children continue to settle splendidly.
