It's been another joyful week at Wimbledon Common, in the slowly advancing autumnal colours. A carpet of brown and burgundy leaves lay about the camp. Fortunately, many of the children are very enthusiastic about raking the leaves up, leaving deep tracks for others to follow and play on. Our newest children continue to settle splendidly.
There have been some smashing activities at the camp this week. Our educator, Dan, with the innovative use of nappy bags, sticks and string, led a brilliant little exercise with the children to create parachutes. All the children were very eager to climb up the tree and watch as their parachutes whimsically descended to the ground.
Face-painting has been a popular activity too. Hands and faces have been decorated with dazzling flowers and terrifying tigers! Some of the children decorated their own hands. The children were patient, calm and very skilful with their brushes. The swing has been in constant use, swinging and spinning, all day long & we've also read through countless stories!
We are very happy to have had another good week at our camp. The children have had a great time and we look forward to seeing them next week for more adventure. Have a great weekend everyone!
