Hello everybody, we have had a fantastic time back in the forest this week! Both children and educators are glad to be back to our usual routine now that the temperatures have increased a little! We have enjoyed being back in our camp, back amongst our trees, and back exploring the world around us!
As we walk to our camp in the mornings, the children pass the golf course, which over time has prompted questions about what game the golfers are playing. The curiosity shown by our little explorers this week lead us to a great idea, why not make our own golf clubs and play Forest Golf? So that’s what we did! Children went off exploring for their ideal sized stick to use as a golf club! We then found some pinecones which we used as our golf balls to hit to and from each other! Everyone seemed very entertained by this activity!
On Wednesday, Educator Sam lead a very cool sawing activity, as our Little Forest Folk-ers sawed their own wooden discs, some decided to use these for various games, and some decided to go and decorate them in our art area.
On Thursday, we went on an adventure walk, where we found some very long “Swishy Swashy Grass,” it was here that we re-enacted the scene from “We’re going on a bear hunt,” we couldn’t go over it, we couldn’t go under it, so in the end, we had to go through it!
It has been a fun filled week, we hope everybody has a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week!
