Wandsworth - Soaring on the Swings!

It's been a thoroughly brilliant week for us all on the common. We started out the week with our first adventure walk of the season! For some, their first ever adventure walk with us, which is delightful. We had a short walk down to Caesar's Well and the children had a blast walking beneath the autumnal canopy of auburn and bronze. When we returned, we were due a well-earned rest and a good story, so the children sat, sipping their water, and listened as Educator Luca read a somewhat dramatic reading of 'The Elephant and the Bad Baby.'

Thanks to Educator Dan's innovation, the children were obsessed with an enormous parachute that he rigged up to a pulley system. The children would run beneath the parachute and giggle as it glided down and enveloped them. Some children came up and took the rope, hoisting it high, as their friends pleaded for them to let it go so the parachute could fall on them all over again. This went on for a long time and I don't think the children would have changed a second of it. They were absolutely euphoric!

Naturally, the children have also been able to enjoy the camps constants; they've bounced on the slackline; soared on the swing; listened attentively to numerous stories and drawn pictures of all the things that fascinate their minds! They've been quite busy! It's so brilliant to have seen the children so happy and engaged this week.

We so look forward to our full-day adventurers coming and playing again next week and hope all our sessional day families have a wonderful half term break! Until then, have a great weekend everyone.
