The week began with an exciting new adventure in our brand-new outdoor location at Paradise Cooperative Community Garden. Spread over an acre, the site is rich in a variety of unique spaces that can be used for different activities.
Wimbledon - From Decorating Easter Eggs to Making Wooden Cars!
Chiswick - Adventure Walks & Investigating Insects
Fulham - Mud & Maths!
Morden - Wind Chimes & Magic Slime!
Another busy week with the Morden Little Forest Folk-ers having so many adventures! We brought some magic into the forest this week by making an Oobleck magic slime! Everyone was so excited dipping their hands into the soft mixture. The texture allowed them to grab the mixture from the tray and then after they released their grip, they loved watching the slime going down. Some of our explorers made handprints and waited until they disappeared again.
Putney Heath - The Forest Doctors!
Twickenham - A Typical Week of Spring Weather
What a typical week of spring weather we have had! Heavy grey clouds, then clear blue sky, drizzle then sunny spells, light winds then sudden gusts… these all seemed to be coming and going in our campsite! Nevertheless, we are grateful that we can immerse ourselves in these changes and truly appreciate the wonders of nature.
Wandsworth - Adventure Walks in the Glorious Rain!
This week saw our last two sessions at the bowling field. Educators have worked very hard over the years to transform it from a blank, flat bowling field into an exciting playful area that has filled many growing children with joy. We’ll be sad to leave our beloved Monday/Friday outdoor space but happy knowing we have jumped, danced, dug and given it our all on every square inch of it!
Wimbledon - Worms at Wimbledon!
Chiswick - A Spring Scavenger Hunt
We have had a wonderful week in the forest. The forest is starting to bloom and our Little Forest Folk-ers have been loving it! This week we went on a spring scavenger hunt and filled a bucket full of goodies. We found Camellias, pinecones and some pretty green leaves. We then added some water to our bucket of goodies to make fairy soup, potions and poisons of course!
Fulham - Frisbees & Pirate Ships
Morden - Wind, Rain and Sunny Spells!
This week has certainly been a week of many weathers… wind, rain and sunny spells! The gorgeous sun has finally shown its face and this has attracted many bees to visit us. The children love watching the bees from a safe distance, hard at work gathering pollen, and this inspired our explorers to put on their artistic hats and use sponges to create some wonderful, stamped pieces of bee-themed art!
Putney Heath - Terrific Tool Work & Spider Webs
Twickenham - Celebrating International Day of Happiness
We started our week with ‘International Day of Happiness’ and the sunshine came out to help us celebrate too! Our Little Forest Folk-ers are always finding joy in the simple things and this week has been no different, we have loved seeing our forest bloom with beautiful spring flowers and watching the sun shine through the trees after a rain shower.
Wandsworth - Making Faces on the Forest Floor
We’ve certainly all been enjoying the warmer weather this week, which has even meant jackets-off on various occasions! These atmospheric changes help children to develop their own ideas about body temperature regulation, and their understanding of how different items of clothing help and protect us.
Wimbledon - Worm Finding and Exploring Water
Chiswick - Breathing Exercises, Affirmations and Dance
Starting off the week inside was a little different to our usual Mondays and we certainly made the most of it, creating camp in our back garden with teddies gathered around the log circle, books hanging up, digging up our vegetable patch, face painting and seeing how long it took before the wind knocked down our foam shelter
Fulham - Clay Structures & Baby Geese!
This week in the Fulham Forest we have had a busy, exciting and eventful week. We started off the week by going on our first Fulham trip as we went to visit and spend the day with the team at Little Forest Folk Putney Heath. The children had the most amazing time as we took the bus there and got to play and explore the Putney Heath site. Everyone even got to have a turn on the swing that was there, which the children really enjoyed!
