This week saw our last two sessions at the bowling field. Educators have worked very hard over the years to transform it from a blank, flat bowling field into an exciting playful area that has filled many growing children with joy. We’ll be sad to leave our beloved Monday/Friday outdoor space but happy knowing we have jumped, danced, dug and given it our all on every square inch of it!
Onwards and upwards to pastures new; we are exceptionally excited to be beginning new adventures at Paradise Gardens which has been carefully and cleverly designed to give users a great outdoor experience; combined with the skills of our Little Forest Folk educators, we’re going to have a great time all day long!
Adventure walks have been good fun this week, with mud galore and flowing streams courtesy of the glorious rain. Fun was had getting stuck and falling over, as well as chasing educators through the Understory Layer of the forest. We found several signposts with carved animals on, which helped us to have informative conversations about all the fabulous fauna we share the forest and the wider world with.
With Spring officially springing now, we see the children developing and growing in leaps too. With this in mind, number play expands and with our laminated cards we have several games that children can practice their number recognition to 20, as well as ordering sense. This game is for all, and in the way children love to support each other here, with educators scaffolding in the learning as appropriate, many little ones are soaking in this number knowledge too.
Have a great weekend everyone, we can’t wait to update you with all the brand-new goings on at Paradise Gardens.
