Fulham - Clay Structures & Baby Geese!

This week in the Fulham Forest we have had a busy, exciting and eventful week. We started off the week by going on our first Fulham trip as we went to visit and spend the day with the team at Little Forest Folk Putney Heath. The children had the most amazing time as we took the bus there and got to play and explore the Putney Heath site. Everyone even got to have a turn on the swing that was there, which the children really enjoyed!

We have also had some really cool creating and structures made with the clay this week. It was nice to see the children incorporating some of the natural resources around camp such as sticks, leaves and flowers when deciding what it was they wanted to make.

We were all super excited one morning, as when arriving to the front to greet our peers we spotted a mummy and daddy goose with their little babies. The children got to have a little look at the babies, whilst remembering to be very calm so we didn’t scare them at all. It is always so wonderful to see our explorers interacting with creatures big and small that we share this wonderful outdoor space with, and a great opportunity to discuss treating all creatures with care and respect.

Our Little Forest Folk-ers really enjoy when we have the wooden alphabet and word sheets out in the forest, and this week was no different. This gives the children the opportunity to get more familiar with the letters of the alphabet and a great opportunity to practice mark making by attempting to copy and make simple words on the picture sheets.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend! And we will look forward to seeing what happens next week in the Fulham Forest.
