Wimbledon - From Decorating Easter Eggs to Making Wooden Cars!

Easter is approaching and Spring is underway! We have been taking part in lots of fun adventures in and around the forest, exploring new areas and continuing to love places that we have been before.

This week we have been decorating Easter eggs. The Little Forest Folk-ers all had a wonderful time colouring their eggs in their favourite colours and experimenting with different patterns. They then hung their colourful creations on a tree and it looked fantastic in our forest!

Another activity everyone has enjoyed this week was making Easter crowns using paper, straws and leaves. Our explorers could choose whatever they wanted to decorate their crowns and we even added some bunny ears!

There has also been lots of tool work this week. The children have shown off their excellent hammering skills, used saws to chop the wood and nails to piece their work together. Our little adventurers had the opportunity to make their own wooden cars and made every single part! From sawing the wood for the body and wheels, to hammering the wheels onto it using nails. Some of the children also spent time practicing hammering and testing out nails on different pieces of wood.

We have spent lots of time exploring our forest on adventure walks as well recently. On one of our favourite walks this week we found a perfect spot to splash about in the river! Our little explorers have also found some excellent places to run up and down hills, and some super spots to play hide and seek.

It has been another incredible week at Wimbledon and we look forward to the Easter weekend and coming back to more signs of Spring next week!
