Another busy week with the Morden Little Forest Folk-ers having so many adventures!
We brought some magic into the forest this week by making an Oobleck magic slime! Everyone was so excited dipping their hands into the soft mixture. The texture allowed them to grab the mixture from the tray and then after they released their grip, they loved watching the slime going down. Some of our explorers made handprints and waited until they disappeared again.
The metal wind chime in the forest has caught the children's attention recently and Maria had the brilliant idea for everyone to work together to make one out of bamboo sticks! So, first we collected the bamboo sticks from the forest and then we set up the area for the bow saw forest school activity. After we explained the safety rules, the Little Forest Folk-ers sat down quietly, and waited patiently for their turn. We would say that we have the best bamboo cutters in the Morden forest! Using their gross motor skills, they cut the bamboo sticks incredibly accurately! It’s an ongoing project, so stay tuned for the final result!
Some of our adventurers made the best of a rainy morning by building some ‘choir pews.’ We gathered some logs and put planks across them to sit comfortably. A couple of our little ones took charge with timing ‘1, 2, 3!’ and we had a list of songs. ‘Baa baa black sheep’ and ‘Humpty Dumpty!’ were two favourites and we all took turns being the ‘instructor!’ We also used large tubes to make different sounds and strengthen our voices! Out loud singing voices were beautiful! 🎶
We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and a wonderful Easter break for our sessional families!
