This week our Little Forest Folk-ers have quite literally been into, on top of, under, around and among absolutely everything! While educators have been encouraging children to use their bodies in a multitude of ways, be it small and controlled actions to make marks or huge sweeping movements in action songs, we have seen perseverance, independence and resilience in abundance and we are very proud of the little ones for getting stuck in!
Wimbledon - Kindness Week!
This week we celebrated World Kindness Day, however, at Wimbledon we decided it should be a whole week’s worth of celebration! One of our BIGGEST forest rules is “kind and gentle”, something that we relate to our friends, our educators and the forest around us. This meant that this week we really focused on all of the things that we can do or say to show how kind all of our Little Forest Folk-ers are.

With a particular focus on the ‘Understanding the World’ stage of development, we have named this week ‘Occupation Week’. We have explored a large array of ‘jobs’ and discussed what we think our parents/guardians’ occupations are. There were some fantastic roleplay areas set up throughout the week, where children could explore many different exciting workplaces.

Our happy Little Forest Folk-ers have delighted in frolicking in the autumn forest this week. Gathering up armfuls of dry leaves and tossing them up into the air, filling boxes and then climbing in to wiggle around comfortably and creating nests for themselves, as well as using leaves as canvases for their creative painting,
