Putney Heath - "What do I want to be when I grow up?"

This week, our theme has been vocations, and we've been diving into the world of different occupations and exploring what each job entails in everyday life. We kicked off with an exciting teacher role-play! In our chemistry class, children mixed and measured potions, experimenting with vibrant colours like blue, orange, and green to create amazing concoctions. For PE, we used bean bags and hula hoops for racing games and exercises, while our art class focused on textiles, where we created shapes by pulling fabric loops into triangles, ovals, and squares.

In our "What do I want to be when I grow up?" game, we rolled dice to land on different occupations and learned more about firefighters, doctors, musicians, and more. Our adventurers drew pictures of what they want to be when they're older, sharing big dreams with us.

We delved into the fascination of space this week too! We explored what life as an astronaut might be like, fixing rockets, observing planets, and monitoring life forms—some of our adventurers even transformed into aliens exploring new planets! We also gathered to discuss how things move in the bustling city of London, imagining buses, trains, and cars zooming through the streets. With a focus on cause and effect, our children used resources to build roads and bridges in their own imaginary cities.

In our junk modelling area, adventurers got creative by designing and constructing their very own structures. Whether they were constructing with recycled materials or designing floor plans, they became skilled architects and engineers.

We've also been busy with adventure walks through the forest, discovering great trees to climb and developing our balancing and climbing skills on our new rope bridges!

Thank you for another fantastic week of fun and exploration, and we hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
