We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
We ended last week with an adventure to the roly poly hill where we all enjoyed some peaceful swinging time in the hammock, enjoying the sun beaming down on us.
Whilst half term means a break for some of our children, educators are always excited to see holiday campers who have passed through the Wandsworth Forest Folk Family in the years before.
This week we have seen all weathers that April can throw at us. The children have been so excited to see rain, sleet, and lighting, as well as sunshine and blue sky.
We awoke our inner wild child this week to frolic and flourish in the forest by dancing and being yogis! Our little performers danced like wiggling worms, hopped like bunnies, and scurried like squirrels.
We had such an incredible week in the forest. Our Little Forest Folk-ers became Easter bunnies hopping around our camp looking for some special treats!
We’ve had a very artistic and creative time in the forest this week! The children have jumped into many different activities using lots of artistic mediums to decorate our space and make things they’re really proud of!
March has surprised us again with this week's weather and our Little Forest Folk-ers have been finding the perfect activities to do to keep them warm under the white fluffy clouds.
The sun has tried it’s hardest to push through this week’s cold snap, and we’ve even had some snow pass through, but whatever the weather the sites always look splendid and are well loved by all.
As the mud begins to clear in the Wimbledon forest lots of exciting things begin to happen. Daffodils blooms, little bunnies come out to explore and trees regrow their leaves.
The children's interest in vehicles and driving has returned this week, as we drew some roads and roundabouts on a big piece of paper and had some little cars and tractors to drive along them!
We ended last week with some thoughtful wild cooking where the children had the opportunity to decorate some bird and heart biscuits with some blue and yellow icing.
March is a rambunctious time for our Little Forest Folk-ers when dealing with the elements and this week we have been stripping off our waterproofs to enjoy some glorious sunshine.
Spring is finally here! The glowing sunshine gives our spaces a glorious feel and the warmer weather creates a perfect environment for additional water play, even sans waterproofs!
We have loved the blue sky and warm sunshine returning to the forest and it has meant that our children have been able to enjoy lots of incredible activities throughout the week.
