Handprints for Ukraine
We ended last week with some wonderfully wild cooking where the children had the opportunity to make some awesome fruit and vegetable kebabs. The children carefully cut up different pieces of fruit and veg into smaller pieces and pierced the long skewer through the fruit. The children then enjoyed eating the fruit under the warm sunshine.
Heading into the new week we were welcomed with some chillier weather which meant for some fantastic fog filling the cricket pitch. The children noticed how it was difficult to see to the other side of the pitch because it was so foggy and hoped that no-one would get lost in the misty air.
This week we have been focussing on creating some beautiful handprint creations, using blue and yellow paint to represent and recognise the colours of the Ukrainian flag. Whilst making birds, butterflies, and other animals with our handprints we all took the time to think about the people of Ukraine and had some mindfulness time. The children have really enjoyed carefully painting their hands with blue and yellow and some even painted their feet!
Later in the week we were very surprised to see SNOW! The children absolutely loved watching as the snow flurried down from the sky and enjoyed trying to catch the snowflakes in their mouths. We wondered if there was enough snow to build a snowman, but I think we might have to wait a while for that! Nevertheless, the children enjoyed exploring through the heavy snow shower we had, and it put a smile on all of our faces!
We hope you all have a warm and restful weekend!
