The festive celebrations have certainly continued this week, Santa's sleigh landed on the bowling green early Monday morning and the children enjoyed engaging in lots of festive role play, flying over chimney tops and gathering ‘presents’ from the field to pack the sacks with.
Chiswick - Santa Claus really did come to town!
Fulham - Santa Claus is coming to town
We’ve had the most wonderful week in the forest at Fulham. The children have been ever so happy exploring the natural world around them, learning about trees, leaves, berries, and mushrooms, offering suggestions to why some leaves (holly bush) remain green all year round - “This one is very green because it’s ‘pricklish’”!
Putney Heath - Santa’s Grotto
Twickenham - Ruby the Elf
Wandsworth - forest snow
We’ve welcomed some milder weather this week whilst observing the surrounding oak trees shedding the last of their leaves, creating wonderful ‘forest snow’ for us to marvel at. The chestnut brown hues that have arrived to decorate the ground this season have been the muse of lots of sweet, chocolate themed creations from the mud kitchen.
Wimbledon - Santa’s secret missions
Chiswick - Winter is not a season, it's a celebration!
Fulham - It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Morden - Welcome to the book shop!
Putney Heath - Meadow Adventures
Twickenham - North Pole
Wandsworth - zig zagging up and down
Wimbledon - Buzzards and Herons
Chiswick - It's the most wonderful month of the year...
Fulham - Hanukkah and celebrations galore
Morden - Searching for Snails
Putney Heath - Changes
We ended last week with some exciting weather! There was rain, sun, wind and even some hail, which the children enjoyed observing whilst eating their snack under the tarp. The children also enjoyed spotting some icy leaves and frozen puddles in and around the forest, whilst we spoke about the weather and season change.
