Santa’s Grotto
We ended last week with a busy day making cakes and clay balls in the creative area and some of the children were working really hard to not fall off the slack line into the big purple bucket! They managed to balance and reach the other end of the slackline without falling off. Well done everyone!
We began the new week with lots of Christmas excitement and ready for a week of Christmas festivities and activities. Starting with a fantastic adventure to the meadow at the beginning of the week, the children enjoyed creating some wonderful winter pictures using black paper and white chalk paint which looked like icy snow. Later on that day, some of the children had their faces painted and Rudolf was the most popular choice.
The Christmas festivities continued, and we enjoyed a lovely Christmas singalong, singing Rudolf the red nosed reindeer, Jingle Bells and many more. The excitement continued when we arrived at camp one morning to find Santa's sleigh and his reindeer had visited. The children enjoyed playing in the sleigh, flying around delivering presents to different people’s houses. Making sure of course that they stayed quiet whilst they jumped down the chimneys.
The children were astounded by a very special visit to camp this week… Santa flew down to see us and he was kind enough to allow the children into his grotto for a special Christmas story time. Before setting off back to the North Pole, Santa made sure the children received a small gift to open on Christmas day! Alongside this the children have also been enjoying making lots of Christmas decorations, including pom poms, gingerbread people and houses and some beautiful Christmas cards to give to their families.
Wow what a special week it has been, full of Christmas excitement and fun! We hope you all have the most wonderful week getting ready for Christmas. Merry Christmas from all of us here at Putney!
