It's the most wonderful month of the year...
🎄What a frosty way to say Goodbye to November and salute one of the favourite months of the year.
As we all know this week, we had the coldest day of the year and our Little forest Folk-ers showed us just how resilient they can be. Wrapped up just like Christmas presents we ventured through the gardens to discover how winter changed our park. We sipped our warm milk, watching the birdies ice skate on the frozen pond. We looked closely with our magnifying glasses at the frost, so we could see the beautiful crystals that nature had formed. It’s so inspiring, how our little adventurers can find beauty in anything that the environment brings to them.
Since its December already, we have welcomed the Christmas spirit at our base-camp. Our little friends have been working so hard on creating wonderful decorations for our camp and room. We decorated a small Christmas tree, using pompoms, stickers, glitter, pipe cleaners, ribbons and whatever else we thought would add a personal touch to our beautiful project. We also made a tactile version our favourite Olaf by sticking lots of cotton balls together. Of course, we also made an advent calendar, and we are so excited to count down the days until Christmas.
While some are working on our Christmas decorations, others continue practicing their bow saw skills. With each practice we are getting better and more confident in the use of tools and how to be safe around them. We have been sawing different size pieces of wood from small cookies to giant hotdogs and then comparing them by size. We are also always so excited to observe all the ‘grated cheese’ when sawing and we love adding it to our yummy mud kitchen creations.
We can’t wait to see what December holds for us! See you next week everyone 🌟
