What a great week it’s been this week in our Fulham Forest!
We started off the week really encouraging group games within the forest, such as ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’ and hopscotch. Hopscotch was really good for introducing numbers and encouraging counting within our play.
One of our days we transformed our mud kitchen into a washing station and had great fun with great teamwork being able to use sponges and clean our toys. The children were really good at being able to work as a team and help each other out to clean their item, which was amazing to see!
In our creative area we got super creative and using string, sticks and paper fish that we had decorated, we made our own fishing rods which the children then began using in their role play games to catch fish.
We have also been speaking a lot about what we look like and our differences. These conversations led to a nice little activity where the children, after looking at their reflections in little mirrors, were able to create their own self portraits of themselves.
It’s been nice having more fact books out in the forest this week as we have been looking more at the world and its countries. Using an Atlas the children were able to identify different countries and where they are in the world which was great for learning more about the world we live in.
