Wandsworth - Wands, Ladybirds and Dreamcatchers

Another bank holiday week, so the action all started at Wimbledon Common. The weather has been generous and the children happy. In the arts section, the children have been experimenting with a profusion of shapes that the hole punches can make in fallen leaves. Wands, ladybirds and dreamcatchers being but a few of the delightful things that our Little Forest Folk-ers have been making.

We've had many laughs and screams of delight playing a game about beans. From 'runner beans' to 'jelly beans' the children have dashed and wobbled like a perfect little ensemble. After that sudden burst of energy, they were able to all sit in a circle together quietly and enjoy a few stories, listening in wonder at the adventures of Christopher Nibble and Boris the Bear.

The spells of rain that have rinsed the forest during the night time have created a fun activity for our little explorers. They worked like a brilliant little team, four-to-a-bag, as they carried heaps of leaves over to the puddles beneath the swing. Eventually with the puddles filled in, we could safely put the swing up for everyone to soar and smile on.

They've pranced like pirates and they've danced like dinosaurs. It's been another week of frivolity for the children, here amongst the luscious splendour of the common. Have a great weekend, everyone!
