Wandsworth - On Our New Spot of Land

It's been a transformative week at Little Forest Folk Wandsworth. Starting out within the tranquil normality of Paradise, it was a delight to have a new intake of holiday campers for the summer. Both campers and full-timers have had excellent fun playing with one another. The clay was a very popular choice at Paradise, with many mouldings made; towering castles; sludgy snails and wiggly worms. We also had plenty of time to indulge in some wondrous stories and run around the little labyrinth of plants as the children ran and chased one another.

Tuesday was naturally a big day. Our first ever camp in a new corner of the common. Guided by the gentle touch of some trial and error, our camp is now beginning to take on a good form. The children have all of the familiar joys at their disposal; the swing; art and reading sections; climbing ropes and more. We now also have the added bonus of some log dens which the children are only too eager to use as their new HQ for the mud kitchen.

On our new spot of land, the children have had some tenacious games of tug-of-war! Yanking and heaving against one another, all with a healthy spirit of friendship and fun. Our little explorers have also been making good use of our abundance of cardboard to make things such as rocket ships and canvasses for their terrific drawings.

All in all, we are all settling into our new site quite well. There is a good sense of optimism for its potential and the happiness of the children seems to provide their endorsement too. Have a great weekend everyone!
