Wandsworth - Marching up to the top of the hill!

It's been a particularly enjoyable experience for the children this week, with a profusion of parents joining for 'stay and play.' Starting out at Paradise this week - at last having a reprieve from bank holidays - the children have had a lovely time; making mud-pies and running energetic laps around the garden.

At Wimbledon Common this week, we took the children on an adventure walk, through the squelchy, oozy quagmire of puddles. Some of the children, hand-in-hand with one another, striding along the path. Some stopping for a pause to take in the splendour of the woods. Eventually we arrived at the hilltop where the children had an amazing time. Marching to the top of the hill and down again like the’ Grand Old Duke of York’. An entire regiment of rolling children, tittering and cheering as they descended to the bottom. Enormous fun!

At the camp, many of the children have enjoyed some peace, attentively listening to stories or sitting amongst the arts and crafts and drawing beautiful pictures. If they have wanted to enjoy something with a bit more noise, they have been able to tap and bash at an assortment of pans, drumming away with sticks and spoons.

It has been a very happy week for the children, particularly with so many parents making guest appearances on site. We have had a week full of activities that have catered to every child's wishes and we look forward to doing so all over again next week. Have a great weekend!
