Wimbledon - Adventure Walks & Insect Spotting!

It has been a week of adventure walks, building and insect spotting!

Our Wimbledon Little Forest Folk-ers have had a busy week exploring all areas of our wonderful forest. The buttercups have created a blanket of yellow on the meadow which the children have loved, and it has created the perfect spot to sit and watch the bugs and the bunnies hop around.

We have also been out on lots of adventure walks this week with the children wanting to explore the nearby frog pond. Our little explorers have an understanding that this time of year it is frog season, so they wanted to go out looking for tadpoles. With their nets in hand, off they went to see what they could find! After an exciting search the children found many tadpoles and transferred some of them into a clear pot to look even more closely. This is a great way for them to gain even more of an understanding of the life around them and how to care for it.

Our adventurers have also been busy building bridges over streams, making mud kitchen equipment out of junk modelling and also doing lots of water experiments.

There is never a dull day in the forest at Wimbledon and we love seeing what exciting adventures the children want to get up to next!
