Wandsworth - Determined Diggers

In what has been a mellow week in the forest, we have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming back yet more familiar faces for our holiday camp. Many of these previous Little Forest Folk attendees just seem to slot back in, the excitement for them to be back in the forest is clearly visible, and it’s this level of positivity shown that allows us to have a fun, yet meaningful and memorable time.

We started the week with another warm day, we recruited some of our mini explorers to help water our crops. Our garlic and tomatoes have grown exceptionally well this year, but our spinach has struggled in this recent drought (will we ever see rain again!?).

In the forest, we have enjoyed making our own superhero masks, with Ironman and Ninjago being a particular interest to our older holiday camp children.

As the warm weather has been a topic of conversation, we made our own forest sun! Firstly, some of our adventurers dug a mud pile, whilst some of the others collected logs which featured as the anticrepuscular rays.

We have enjoyed digging water dams in the dry forest ground this week. Some of the adventurers decided to dig a small rock pool at the bottom of this stream, which allowed the water to gently flow downstream and collect at the rockpool at the bottom.

Sending positive vibes to everyone and enjoy another warm weekend! See you back in the forest next week!
