This week our children have been exploring their creative sides and have been taking part in lots of different types of painting. At the beginning of the week, we used ready mix paint to decorate a large cardboard box. Each child had room to add their own design and even a painted handprint. Once dried overnight the box made the most amazing den, perfect for role playing families and using in games of hide and seek. Later in the week the foresters used blackberries to paint! On our walk in we collected all the big juicy berries we could find and then smashed them up with a little water. This mixture made a vibrant thick purple paint that all the children loved exploring. Inspired by this we also decided to make paint using other natural ingredients such as paprika, damsons and mud!
This week there has also been a lot of digging, climbing, and creating self-portraits. Some children have been extra interested in length using tape measures and rulers to take measurements and compare items. Further to this, we have been doing litter picking to help clean up our forest.
A brilliant Wimbledon Forest week!
