And the holiday commences! We’ve welcomed our holiday campers to the forest this week, so lots of new faces for us to meet!
We’re always roaming and wandering in the forest. We started our week clambering on trees and wooden stepping stones, living the life of little creatures down below. We scuttled and bent our bodies low to reveal what lives under logs - we found millipedes, spiders, woodlice, ants and many more creatures!
On Tuesday we dipped a net in the lake to see what we could find from pond skaters to little fishes - all the wonders of life underwater, and later in the week we found pebbles to turn into rock monsters!
We turned ordinary white kitchen towels into funky, colourful and patterned tie-dye creations. The children tied elastic bands around some kitchen roll and a lollipop stick to create different patterns and the outcome was so beautiful, it would be a perfect addition to jazz up any bedroom.
In our Chiswick forest we’re always feeling brave, and this week was no exception as our children clambered up ladders, wobbled on slack lines, rocked back and forth on a hammock, and jumped through hoops!
Our full-day children showed our new holiday campers how to saw wood, to get the real forest school experience! 🪵
In other news we have some exciting trips that we’re planning which involve meeting real life firemen and visiting the beautiful gardens of Kew 🍃 🚒 more info coming soon…
