Hope you are all enjoying your Summer so far!
As many of you already know, we're on a quest to reconnect as many children as possible with nature. We're working hard to find and secure new possible sites so that we can grow beyond our Wimbledon and Chiswick settings.
We know that lots of you are keen to learn more about the progress we're making, so we wanted to send you an update.
Little Forest Folk- Wandsworth
Following on from our last update, we're still committed to opening a nursery in Wandsworth and as some of you will already be aware, we have found an alternative indoor setting close to the original location.
We are once again engaging with Wandsworth council to reach an agreement to allow us to use Wandsworth Common as our forest area and are hoping to be open by the end of January 2017. We can't give a concrete opening date until we have fully secured an agreement with council but we are working as hard as we can on this. We will of course let parents know as soon as we do have a set opening date and then we can start to look at the waiting list, open days and enrolments.
We remain incredibly grateful for the support you’ve shown us with our attempts to open in Wandsworth and may ask you to demonstrate that support once again to Wandsworth council.
Little Forest Folk- Fulham
We are also planning a new setting in Fulham which we're excited about and if all goes to plan, we hope to open by mid October, although we don’t plan to run half term holiday camp for the October half term. The nursery will be smaller than our Wimbledon setting, taking approximately 20 children each day making it similar in size to our Chiswick branch.
We will shortly be starting to actively promote the new setting and we'll also be looking at opening a waiting list, full details to follow soon. As always, we will give priority to any families that are already on any of our existing waiting lists. Keep updated on our progress.
As a side note…
We are exploring other locations in and around South London and as soon as we have any other possible sites, we'll let you know. Or if you know of any fantastic green spaces that would be perfect for some Little Forest Folk adventures, please let us know! We plan to offer sessional and full days to children aged 2 to 5 years across all of our nurseries, with a minimum attendance of at least two days each week.
We also plan to offer government funded places for 2 & 3 year olds across all our new nurseries, just as we do in both Wimbledon and Chiswick.
