Morden - Sensory Play & Science Experiments

This week has been another great opportunity for getting physical in the forest!! The temperature drop has encouraged the adventurers to climb, jump and run around the forest! ‘Chase me, be a monster!’

We have had lots of fun activities this week! Some children are talking and asking of Santa already 🎅 We are so excited to begin Christmas activities! Creating Christmas wish lists is great for starting conversations and encouraging descriptive words!

Maria has involved many in her sensory play activities. We could feel the forest quieten down as children were engrossed in scooping and pouring coloured rice! They were able to create their own little villages and work those important finger muscles!

Nasila has excited groups by presenting a science experiment! Adventurers were able to pop mentos into Coca Cola and watch the reaction! ‘It’s going to explode!’ ‘A volcano!’ ‘Why does that happen?’

We have also painted Christmas scenes this week using balloons to create baubles, stencils to create snowflakes and natural materials to add different textures!

We’re looking forward to more intrigue and fun next week in the forest!
