As September comes to an end, we started our week off with an adventure walk to say goodbye to the leaves. We can’t wait for our forest to turn into an autumn wonderland. On our travels we found a hedgehog starting to bed down for the colder months. Our little adventurers worked together to find leaves and sticks and build her the perfect hibernation house. They showed a lot of resourceful hunting down of their building materials to keep the hedgehog cosy.
This week we also met a new adventurer in our forest. Omar the persona doll came to join us. Persona dolls are a great way of learning about different cultures and life experiences as well as talking through tricky feelings and emotions. Omar will be visiting the children regularly from his other forest school to tell us about what he’s learning. The children loved hearing about where Omar lives and what he likes to do. It was also a lovely chance for them to share about themselves with Omar. We’re sure that Omar will have lots of interesting stories to share with us this term and we can’t wait!
The second half of the week brought a deluge of rain and our Little Forest Folk-ers didn’t miss the opportunity to dance in the puddles to our favourite new song… big fish, little fish, cardboard box. Bring on October!
