Morden - Christmassy Magic Spells!

December is well and truly here and at Little Forest Folk Morden we have busted out the Festive songs and stories to much fanfare and excitement! We started off the week with Stickman, building on our literacy focus to learn and repeat phrases from stories. The little ones eagerly shouted out the lines “I’m stick man, I’m stick man, I’m stick man, that’s me!” Then sourced sticks from our forest so that we could bind them together with twine to make our very own stick characters. We had daddy stick, baby stick and my stick lady love of course. This literacy activity then fostered an afternoon of stick family role play in the family tree!

The sticks in our forest have also been remade into beautiful star Christmas ornaments, and magic wands for our adventurers to use for casting their Christmassy magic spells!

Importantly, the little ones have also been spending this week mastering their glove-wearing skills. Although they might come off briefly for something that requires their fine motor skills, they’re quickly back on once the children finish their focused activities and get up to move their bodies and warm up around the forest. It’s amazing to see them as masters of their element, suited and booted and racing around in the winter sunshine!
