Morden - A Surprise Phoenix Nest!

This week the educators were inspired by our eucalyptus tree leaves in the driveway. At the start of the week, we used the leaves to make monster masks. We did this using paper, glue, and other natural resources.

At the end of the week the educators decided to build a mysterious nest in the forest for the children to discover. The nest was made up of the red eucalyptus leaves and peacock feathers. In the nest we also had some silver eggs! Spike introduced the day by telling a story about a phoenix visiting us to make a nest and lay some special eggs. The children were then excited to go explore the forest. They were intrigued by the nest and eggs but soon discovered some eggs were missing. We explored the forest and managed to find more eggs and return them to the nest. Lots of lovely imaginative play that captured the children’s minds!
