What a different week the weather has provided us with! From slipping and sliding on the ice last week to dancing in the rain this week. Our Little Forest Folk-ers have thoroughly enjoyed the slightly warmer weather.
We have been on one gigantic adventure this week as we have had a different set up from our usual forest camp. The beauty of our environment is that we can be so flexible and provide the children with such a range of experiences whilst in our company! The week began with some playdough making in the clubhouse on Monday and then a visit to the local church on Tuesday!
The educators were very proud of the children as they did an excellent job at being quiet and respectful whilst in the church as they witnessed people praying. After the church, the children ventured back to Fulham Palace to make some Christmas cards, decorated with tinsel and pom poms.
Mid-week the children enjoyed venturing to the natural play area where they challenged themselves physically, walking along the slippery and wet surfaces. The wet decaying trees that form the natural play area were also home to a variety of mushrooms which caught the children’s eye, quickly followed by some woodlouse who were on their own adventures!
Lastly, the children enjoyed exploring the pond in Bishops park and we watched as the ducks ate the fallen berries. This sparked conversations about the ducks carrying the seeds to a new place where a tiny tree would soon grow!
We hope you all have a lovely festive break, and can't wait to see you all in the new year!
