Fulham - Masters of Risky Play

Hello everyone,

It’s been such an amazing week in the forest and the children were happy, but we are starting to feel emotional as the end of term approaches. We are ever so proud of our Little Forest Folk-ers and we will miss each and every one of them when they go to school!

The children have been busy with lots of activities this week, but their favourite part of the day has been adventure walking to the natural playground. Climbing, jumping, skipping, rolling, anything is possible for our children, and they have become masters of risky play. Assessing how far they can go, how high they can climb, how safe it is to explore the grounds, the children need little or no interference from an educator when they are playing.

In the art section, the clay station was very popular this week, where the children made beautiful necklaces. They used pipe cleaners and cardboard to make their own bugs and insects by cutting, threading, and tying.

For our sensory play this week, we brought different scent flasks for the children to smell. They absolutely loved the experience - trying to guess which scent it was that they could smell.

Another exciting activity was storytelling with stones. Using stones painted with different characters, they had to come up with a plot and between superheroes and dragons, some stories were fantastic!

We hope you all have a magical weekend and see you all on Monday for our END OF TERM CELEBRATION PICNIC!
