We have most definitely out done ourselves this week in the Fulham forest. Using the large wooden pallets, we created a very large throne which inspired us to turn ourselves into kings and queens. This was also a nice way to say goodbye to the wonderful Karlenne who celebrated her last day with us here in the Fulham forest on Tuesday.
This week we have really been focusing on literacy and thinking about different ways to develop our children’s learning through our enjoyment of literacy activities.
On camp we have had all sorts of activities including creating a library with great stories for the children to explore. A popular activity was making our own library cards in the creative area and encouraging further development for our older children by encouraging them to practise writing their own names on their library cards. We have also made sure we have lots of words scattered around each area of camp, to encourage our little explorers learning and becoming familiar with new language.
Bug hunts are always super fun in the forest and as the children really do enjoy them, we extended upon this this week by providing some great resources to assist this play such as magnifying glasses and binoculars. Our Little Forest Folk-ers had the best time searching all around camp for some bugs and then our older adventurers turned this activity into some maths-fun by creating little tally charts of how many bugs we found.
What a smashing week our little ones have had in the forest - we are all wondering what fun adventures will take place next week! đź’
