Fulham - Eggs, Fans and Parachutes!

We had so much fun in the forest with our full day children and holiday campers on our last week of holiday camp! Starting our days with adventure walks to the natural playground where the children climbed on the tallest log, jumped long distances, and helped each other balancing on the tricky bits.

The forest was decorated with gigantic Easter eggs made and painted by the children. We had lots of waste egg hunts mixing and matching eggs and numbers and the children have become masters in finding and putting them together.

Our reading corner was the perfect spot for the little ones to chill and relax when they needed to take a break from their play. ‘Supertato’ and ‘Monster Book’ were some of their favourite stories to read. The children also enjoyed storytelling throughout the day with Ben and Hannah.

On the stage, we had the most amazing hopscotch and our Little Forest Folk-ers did a pretty good job hopping their way through the numbers!

On the arts & craft station, the children learned how to make fans to stay cool in the warm weather. First, they used pens to decorate their paper with letters, numbers, and abstract drawings. Then they started folding the paper in a zig zag pattern. Their fine motor skills were put to the test, and they were absolutely brilliant! They also learned how to make chatterboxes, which was a bit more challenging for some of the younger children, but they persisted and managed to finish theirs too!

Playing with the parachute is always fun! Shaking the colours in the air and running under the waves makes everyone laugh and giggle!

The ever so popular mud kitchen was incredibly busy this week. From magic potions to cupcakes, pizzas and pancakes, our chefs spent lots of time in the shade mixing, stirring, and pouring.

The obstacle course has been super fun and inspiring this week! The children had to cross wobbly bridges, climb the tallest wall, crawl under planks and balance on long round logs! As they would say in ‘Paw Patrol’ “No obstacle was too big, no child was too small!” Everyone had a go (repeatedly!) and they all had a great time exploring their physical abilities and learning how to navigate the trickiest bits!

It has been so lovely to be with the holiday campers these last couple of weeks and we can’t wait to see them again soon!

We hope you all had a fabulous week too and hope you have a lovely Easter weekend!
