Hello everybody!
Our week at Fulham started with a celebration of World Bee Day (20th May). The children made bumblebees with clay and decorated them with twigs and leaves to make legs and wings. We also had a very special treat for snack where the children made their own wrap with fruit and delicious honey, yum! We ended the day with a trip to the beehives in the walled garden.
This week, we are also celebrating World Turtle Day (23rd May) but in a very special way. Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been learning about the sea turtles’ habitats, diet, age, and other interesting facts. By raising awareness amongst our little ones, we are one step closer to protecting our planet for the future! Timmy the turtle has been a constant presence in our forest, and you’ll probably hear the children sing their song at home!
The weather has been offering lots of opportunities for the children to learn and see for themselves how the environment changes around them. It was also a great opportunity to talk about some of the feelings and emotions that can be challenging to cope with sometimes, such as feeling scared or sad when the thunder rumbled up in the sky. Our children were able to talk us through what they were experiencing! And what better way to end our day when the sunshine came, than to have a turtle race in the green grass in the walled garden! It was amazing and the children had such a great time!
We hope you all have a great weekend!
