Hello wonderful families,
It has been a lovely start to the Autumn term, with the summer sun still shining over our camp. Our new explorers have had a fantastic week filled with fun activities throughout the week. The older explorers have been kind and gentle, as well as extremely helpful and patient in helping the young explorers settle into the forest.
Our sweltering week was filled with creativity, smiles and fun! The mud kitchen was the focus of the week where our explorers created an ice cream shop and some chocolate broccoli to serve at their cafe. We also explored what we could cook up from 'The Gruffalo', some scrambled snake and owl ice cream!
As the young explorers dug, they found some worms and saw other insects such as dung beetles and spiders. The explorers watched the insects, and counted their legs and watched them scurry across the mud and wriggle back underground.
The young explorers also embarked on a quest to create a farm with the sticky bricks, our fantastic little architects built farms, filled with gates and wide doors and little pens for the animals the rest in. Some explorers also made vehicles such as tractors to work on the farm and their little minds quizzed the forest educators on what we do on the farm, harvesting crops and what animals needed tending to.
We had our hand at music also, with some young explorers creating a rhythmic beat with the drums and tambourines. Explorers and forest educators were singing songs to go with the beat.
Stay tuned for more stories of fun, exploration and friendship as we continue to nurture young minds and spirits.
