Chiswick - Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice

Chiswick’s adventurers have well and truly celebrated the summer solstice this week with clay miniatures of Stonehenge. Learning about the history of these seemingly strange stones and moving them around our camp with the shining sun, following the shadows cast.

Dainty paper flowers were created on sticks too! Our adventurers ripped recycled paper into pieces and made gorgeous tulip looking petals. ‘How else can we celebrate the solstice?’ you may ask; well with crowns of course! The children cut, stuck and glued old fabric decorations to adorn their heads and proudly wore them around our camp.

Have you thought about travelling?

Our adventurers put their thinking sun hats on and thought about where they would like to go on holiday. With the addition of some paper aeroplane props, our Little Forest Folk-ers discussed destinations, times and airports. Popular destinations included: Portugal, Scotland, Africa AND Alaska!

Chiswick’s Got Talent

We put on the biggest talent show Chiswick has ever seen this week. Our little performers put on quite the show! Singing and dancing to upcoming hits like “Belle Flora”, “Dinosaur We Will Rock You” and the heavy metal ballad, “LAMBORGHINI”

Joke of the week: What did the big flower say to its friend?

You’re really growing, Bud!!
