Chiswick - Sirens, Ceilings, and Soggy clothes!

Happy Friday from the forest - and what a week we’ve had! Some very special visitors, a grand excursion, and more muddy puddles than you could shake a stick at! (Pun intended)

Sirens could be heard sounding through the forest this week as our little adventurers were visited by the London fire fighters! We learned all about the vital role they play in keeping us safe and had a lot of fun in the process - we were even able to make a big splash with the hose!

Before we knew it, we were out and about once again as we took a trip round Chiswick House. We used our looking and listening to learn all about the house and its history. In one room, we lay on the floor looking up at the beautiful ornate ceiling and searching for animals amongst the paintings. In another, we saw a miniature Chiswick House made entirely of Lego! When we were finished playing with the bricks, we impressed the guide so much with our tidying up skills she said she’d never seen the room so tidy!

It’s raining, it’s pouring! We were so happy to see some rain finally soak the forest soil this week. We went on the hunt for muddy puddles to splash in and used the rainwater for some spectacular mud kitchen creations. When thunder took to the skies, we stayed calm and collected while our educators led us to safety - what an adventure!

We can’t wait to see what next week has in store, have a lovely weekend to big and small adventurers alike!

(Soggy) fact of the week: Larger raindrops can fall as fast as 20 mph! While the smallest raindrops can take up to 7 minutes to fall.
