Chiswick - Leaf Tracing and Tree Patterns!

Here’s an update on all the exciting activities our Little Forest Folk-ers enjoyed this week!

Leaf Tracing and Tree Patterns
The children had a great time tracing chalk over paper to reveal the unique patterns on tree bark. Afterward, they explored different species of leaves, such as oak and sycamore, tracing the leaves and matching them with those in a book. They were excited to discover which trees the leaves came from!

Natural Paint Making
Our Little Forest Folk-ers went foraging for materials to create their own natural paints. They gathered blackberry, leaves, and flower petals, then collected rocks to crush these materials into a paste. Mixing in oil and water, they transformed their foraged finds into vibrant paints, which they used to create some brilliant and colourful masterpieces.

Elder Beads and Needle Felting
Our Little Forest Folk-ers got hands-on with tools to carve through elder wood, creating beautiful elder beads. We also tried our hand at needle felting, mixing vibrant colours to design unique pieces.

Swing Fun
The swings were a hit as always! The children took turns using a timer and maintained a swing list to ensure everyone had a chance to enjoy the fun while building strength in their legs.

Lemonade and Mud Kitchen Delights
Our mud kitchen was buzzing with creativity as the children served up refreshing lemonade, alongside treats like chocolate soup, strawberry and raspberry cake, and the classic mud pie. They experimented with different consistencies, making their mud pies perfectly runny or wonderfully gloopy.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and for nurturing your little ones' love for nature and creativity!
