After the long weekend what a sunny and fantastic week we had in forest! ☀️🌳🌼🌸
🎳 Earlier this week in the forest we had a fabulous bowling alley created with sticks and bottles. We used this opportunity to enhance the ability to control the ball with our hands and feet and also tried to count the score and make some rules for when we are playing. For example, ‘everyone can bowl twice and then take turns’. We also found different ways to bowl the ball, like kicking or throwing, or whatever took our fancy! Everyone had a wonderful time and lots of fun in forest bowling alley 🥳
🤩 We also had our slackline up in the forest this week. This is a great activity to try and strengthen our balance whilst attempting to balance our way across from one tree to the other. Some of our little adventurers did very well without any help! We also had our hammock swinging high in the trees too, it’s was a relaxing time for everyone when swinging inside! 😎
🤠 It’s time to let our little forest explorers take action! We had a rescue operation to help the dinosaurs! We got some brushes and hammers and needed to think carefully about how we could save our favourite Dino’s when they were stuck in the ice. During the rescue process, the children tried hard and thought of different methods, and everyone was very involved. Our little explorers tried to break the ice with the tools to free our dinosaur friends, we were hoping that the sun would help to melt the ice, but sadly it was far too slow. Some of our Little Forest Folk-ers discovered that hot water and salt could melt the ice quicker without ‘hurting’ the Dino’s! Everyone discussed and worked together brilliantly to save every last dinosaur, congratulations! 🦖
🍦 The beautiful sunshine inspired us to create an ice-cream shop in the forest! It’s good to have some cold food in the sunny weather! The children made an ice-cream to give to their friends and educators, and everyone designed their own and very different flavours of the ice cream, we had a vast array of flavours from chocolate and banana to carrot and cucumber … that was very creative. 😋
🧺 Each day this week, we gathered together to have a lovely picnic time to end the day. We had snack time in picnic land and one day we saw a cute duck family out for a little afternoon walk. Of course our little ones were eager to have a play too, and after we run and sweat, we are making sure to drink lots of water and lay down on the grass to rest and look up to see what we can see the sky. The sun shines brightly in the clear blue sky, casting a warm and inviting glow over everything it touches. 🌞
