Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful Easter. This week we have seen our Little Forest Folk-ers spring back into the forest effortlessly!
Even though it’s been a short week, we’ve still managed to celebrate, from Chiswick’s 6th birthday to world earth day. 🎂
We also created some fine art in the arts and crafts corner. Using little ear buds, our artists used their fine motor skills to create a beautiful, colourful, blossom tree. Earlier this week we used natural materials to create different patterns on paper such as twigs which made dots, pressed leaves, and green man collages from mulch.
Our mud kitchen is turning into a Michelin star restaurant! Our cakes have been very elaborate with pinecones, pine needles and cherry blossoms for decoration. We’ve made magical potions by using natural dyes too.
There’s always time to challenge our bodies, so our team have created assault courses to enhance our upper body strength by climbing ladders or balancing along wooden beams.
The children impressed us this week with their reading and their phonics as we introduced our new visual timetable. The children easily read the visual cues of play time, hand washing and lunch time. They were very satisfied when they completed a task and were able to remove complete cue cards.
On Friday we celebrated Earth Day by dressing up in the theme ‘Wild’ to raise money for Chiswick House and Gardens charity. We had hopping grasshoppers, brightly coloured lady bugs and ferocious lions.
Wishing you a wild weekend all!
