This week in the forest, we were blessed with lovely sunshine, creating the perfect opportunity for ice and water play. The children had an absolute blast, splashing around and experimenting with the different properties of ice and water, making the most of the sunny weather.
Throughout the week, we focused on zones of regulation. We had meaningful discussions about big feelings such as worry and frustration. One of the highlights was crafting magic wands and learning a magic spell to help our worries disappear. The children enjoyed the creative process and were excited to have a new tool to manage their emotions. We're also beginning to explore various strategies to handle anxiety and frustration, equipping our little ones with skills to navigate their feelings.
We delved into shapes through creative arts, making collages shaped like triangles, circles, and squares. This activity not only helped the children recognise and understand different shapes but also allowed them to express their creativity in fun and unique ways.
A major highlight of the week was the big scavenger hunt across all our camps. The children worked together to solve clues and explore the forest, leading them to a hidden treasure. This activity was filled with excitement and teamwork, and the sense of accomplishment they felt upon finding the treasure was truly priceless.
Thank you for another wonderful week of exploration and learning in the forest. We look forward to more adventures ahead!
