Chiswick - Art Activities!

Fortunately, the rain has stayed mostly at bay this week and we saw some sunshine, which created a lovely setting for a week full of energy and fun in the forest! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Art activities ๐ŸŽจ

Most of the leaves have changed colour in the forest now, which has inspired lots of art activities. We painted leaves to make them more colourful, and we also built our own โ€˜leaf peopleโ€™ with different types of leaves, using maple leaves as a face, ash leaves as arms and beech leaves as hair, it was so much fun!๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚ At the end of the activity, we learnt about different types of leaves, and how they all come from different trees.๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ

Blue song ๐ŸŽผ

We recently learnt a yellow song and red song, which both focused on different emotions and how we can express those emotions through different actions. We continued on to learn our blue song this week, and discussed when we may be feeling blue, or sadโ€ฆ maybe if we miss Daddy or Mummy, or if someone takes the toy we were playing with without asking. We talked about how in these blue moments, we may want to be with our friends to cheer us up, and now we have learnt our blue song we could sing this, as we have learnt that there are many different ways to feel and express our emotions ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Adventure walk ๐Ÿชต

We found lots of different nature items during our adventure walk this week, like chestnuts and different type of leaves, and collected some of our favourite finds so that we could share them with our friends back at camp. With lots of the leaves turning into gorgeous colours and falling to the ground, our Little Forest Folk-ers are loving that autumn has reached the forest!

Fishing ๐ŸŽฃ

The children were inspired by a super muddy puddle this week, and immediately went to gather sticks to work with the educators to create their own fishing rods. Our little adventurers were very successful and caught lots of โ€˜fishโ€™, and even role-played catching a really big fish which was super wriggly, so they had to put it into a bowl! Can you believe it, some of our Little Forest Folk-ers even caught a sharkโ€ฆ thatโ€™s so cool!๐Ÿฆˆ

Black History month ๐Ÿ“š

We also had a focus on Black History Month this week, where we looked at lots of story books related to Black history. This inspired some lovely discussions in camp, with lots of our children sharing their knowledge of different cultures, celebrities and historical figures.

We are enjoying autumn in the forest so much, we really hope you are all enjoying the seasonal changes around us too, and we look forward to another exciting week of forest adventures! โ™ฅ๏ธ
