Chiswick -  A Sunny Beginning to Spring Term

Easter break is over and this marks the beginning of our Spring term. Nature is in tune with our blooming happy mood and we have been able to enjoy lots of sunshine through the whole week, making our return to the woods very exciting.

We kickstarted our week with adventure walks and a little nose around the park investigating all the changes happening around. We saw the first ducklings of the season and we learned how to differentiate between Mummy and Daddy duckies. We also found the newly hatched coots by the bridge and we found out that we have 9 terrapins living in our pond, which enjoy the sunshine even more than us.

In the following days we were busy getting into characters of all kinds, an especially popular choice was being a forest school teacher, with teeny tiny bum bags around our waists and a walkie talkie in hand we were counting how many adults were on site. We also enjoyed playing dentists, doctors and making healing mud potions for our teddies.

We also have been working hard together on our new summer camp sites, sharing ideas and debating where will be best to build a den. We all used our strong arms and legs to move logs around and create the best bridges, mud kitchen and a climbing area.

With this we want to suggest you start dressing your child with their summer waterproof. You can still keep a few layers underneath to help manage with the changing temperature. Make sure you pack a sun hat, sunscreen(if you like us to use your own) and an insect repellent (DEET free). Please, label everything :)
