Fulham - A Big Bug Hunt!

What a beautiful week it’s been here in the Fulham Forest, the sun has been shining and the children have really enjoyed being outside making the most of this amazing weather.

Following the children’s interest in paper aeroplanes this week in the creative area, the children have had fun using the coloured dabber pens to create and design their own planes. Showing great amounts of listening and following instructions, the older children enjoyed being able to copy step by the step how to fold the paper, creating their own versions of paper planes. It was then fun using them to have paper aeroplane competitions to see how far they could fly.

A awesome natural wow activity took place this week when using cardboard cut outs of our hands and arms we created and made it into trees, painting and sticking leaves onto the cardboard fingers creating amazing looking LFF Fulham hand trees.

Another activity that was really enjoyed by the children was when a target was created on a board. Using beanbags the children began practising throwing the beanbags onto the coloured target. Each colour represented a different amount of points and this was good for the older children in camp to be able to attempt in counting adding up the points they had got.

Being outside gives our children the most amazing experiences searching for bugs and bug hunting. Caterpillars and wriggly worms are our favourite - remembering when we hold or touch them to be kind and gentle.

It’s been great to watch this week as the children have had the most amazing time in camp and have had some really great learning experiences. I’m looking forward to seeing what next week has in store for us here in the Fulham Forest!
