What a week of different weathers we have had!
The rain, sun and thunder all made for a very exciting week in the forest. We enjoyed sunshine and were able to chase our shadows around the meadow. It was a welcomed break from the rain, even though the rain does make for the best muddy puddles!
The cloudy weather also meant we had the excitement of being able to watch the clouds change shape. Our children have really been noticing the different shapes and pictures that they can see in the clouds, and have taken time out of their day to just relax and look at the things around them.
Our groups have also been busy constructing this week, using pallets, tyres and logs to create climbing areas. Everyone has been practicing their balancing and seeing how high they can build their towers.
The bugs and insects around us have also been joining us this week. Some of this children went looking for snails and decided to befriend it. They were interested in the different parts of the snails and what they are, which led to many interesting conversations.
The mixed weather means that the children are able to experience the different ways that the forest can change depending throughout the seasons. They can see the amazing ways that rain can help the growth of our forest during spring and summer, and that it can have a beneficial impact on their play and the creatures that call the forest home.
The sun may be lovely, but a little rain every now and again never hurts!
